Gerri's background is in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and the study of how to motivate and encourage cooperative management in the work force. She has always enjoyed the study of people and exploring what motivates them.

Gerri started teaching at Art Trek in her own children's classrooms as a volunteer docent in Thousand Oaks. In 1998 she began working with Art Trek. She co-facilitates teacher workshops, trains volunteer docents and teaches as an Art Specialist in Art Trek's site instruction schools. She thoroughly enjoys teaching and working with both children and adults and is thrilled to see their joy when art is introduced into their lives. Gerri specializes in mosaic tiling. She is a frequent lecturer in local high schools and book clubs on the life of Kate Chopin (paternal Great-Grandmother) and author of The Awakening.
