The Reveal! Mural at Many Mansions: Shadow Hills Apartments

The day has arrived - the reveal!

Many Mansions commissioned Art Trek to design and paint a mural at one of their newly remodeled properties in Thousand Oaks, CA. After a lot of hard work and dedication spanning the month of November, John Galan, artist and teacher, along with his assistant and fellow artist Alyna Carter, the mural was complete. Spanning the entire side of an apartment building, the scene is unforgettable. The mural represents the residence of Shadow Hills - a tight knit and bold community of many different backgrounds who over the years have become close friends, even family. Colorful homes decorate the mountainside, as cobblestone streets pave the boardwalk and delicately painted boats sit in the water on the docks. This scenery represents home and community.

Flashback Friday: Workshop w/Conejo Recreation & Park District

Flashback to the beginning of the week: Staff members from the Borchard Community Center joined together at our studio this past Monday night for an evening of creativity and fun! The group started with a warm-up where they drew each others portraits blindly while they used a continuous line. A fun and slightly challenging lesson to get everyone going!  And for the main project attendees looked through various imagery and at different art pieces in our studio for inspiration!

Spotlight On: Objects of Inspiration Workshop

Last Thursday we hosted our monthly Cabernet, Canvas & Color Series of Workshops! Our theme for August was Objects of Inspiration! Artists observed our studio space and became inspired by certain objects that they found. Each artist created a unique masterpiece out of different trinkets, sculptures, and accessories.
