Luna y Sol

(see art samples and ideas below)


Supplies needed: 1 sheet of construction or copy paper, black crayon or marker, and medium of your choice. (i.e. tempera, watercolor, construction paper crayon, marker, colored pencil, etc.)

  1. On your piece of paper, with a black crayon or marker, draw a slightly flattened circle.

  2. Draw the moon with its bold facial features. Clouds and stars can be added if desired.

  3. Then draw bold facial features and stylized rays on the sun.

  4. Divide the background into 2 sections: day and night.

  5. Color-in and Decorate! Remember: Use white sparingly for accents. Re-outline with black crayon to sharpen lines.

P.S. Sign your name on the bottom right corner of your artwork!

Zentangle Owls

Supplies needed: 1/2 sheet of paper or cardstock, pencil, black marker or sharpie and colored markers or crayons.

1. Using a pencil, lightly draw an owl on your 1/2 sheet of paper.

2. Go over your pencil lines in sharpie or black marker, then go right into your zentangle designs.

3. Once you are done with your zentangle designs, color in your owl with colored markers or crayons.

P.S. Remember to sign your name on the bottom right corner of your artwork!

Tiny Houses

(see art samples and ideas below)

Supplies needed: 1/2 sheet of paper or cardstock, pencil, dark crayon or marker and colored markers or crayons.

1. Using a pencil, lightly draw a series of three simple shapes: a square, triangle, diamond, half- circle, etc.

2. Use your imagination to turn the shapes into houses – add doors, windows, shutters, chimneys, and more.

3. Trace over your pencil lines with a dark marker or crayon.

4. Color your tiny houses with crayons or markers. Imagine what it would be like to live in your tiny house!

P.S. Remember to sign your name at the bottom right corner of your artwork!
